Stage Two done

A short stage, one where the pro’s put their foot down and one for us that turned into a semi rest day. We needed it after yesterday’s heat. We rode through the centre of Brussels and had a lot of stopping for traffic lights but it was enjoyable and time to take in the city. It was very civilised on a Sunday morning, people having coffee at pavement cafes, people out walking and jogging in parks. We took coffee in Grand Place and watched a cavalcade of vintage cars.

Tomorrow it is back to long days and a few hills towards the end just to keep us interested. We move into France and begin to navigate our way to the Pyrenees. I feel rested and ready to get started properly. The next rest day is in Albi in 8 days time, between now and then 1500 km. Had the afternoon reading and snoozing - lovely.
