Stage Six

We are approaching a third of the way and the challenge is about to increase significantly. Today is the first mountain stage. I am rested after yesterday but the forecast is to be hot again. We go up much higher and climb for longer so the air should be cooler. I am looking forward to the views.

So far the Tour has gone largely to plan for people - no accidents, some mechanical issues - one person had 5 punctures in 2 days. He has now been fitted with new tyres, so hopefully he can ride on without the stress and worry. There are some interesting people here - e.g. the Headmaster from Gairloch school. We rode together yesterday morning.

The big question right now is ‘will breakfast include hot scrambled egg’?

All the best for the Planche des Belles Filles. Or the Plank of the Beautiful Girls as I think Ned Boulting called it.
Agog to hear whether the scrambled eggs were hot.
