Stage 21 - And so the end has come
Rambouillet to Paris Champs-Élysées
The final stage for Tony and a cycle of just over 80kms from the countryside outside of Paris into its heart at the Champs-Élysées. There are still a couple of category 4 climbs to negotiate in the first 30kms before hitting the outskirts of Paris after 60kms. Thankfully, he only has to do one loop of the Champs-Élysées unlike the eight laps the pros will do.
There's not much left for me to say other than congratulations to Tony for the massive achievement of finishing Le Loop - cycling well in excess of 3,000 km in the space of 21 days. Well done hardly covers it!
Drink of the day has to be champagne and a damn fine one at that - Krug Grand Cuvée.
There could have been any number of songs for the day but in the end I'll settle for My Way by Frank Sinatra.
